The collaboration of Neil Wakefield and Fine Tooth Projects is essentially about creating unique opportunities in sought-after urban residential areas. Applying careful consideration to the site and design to utilise the natural features, together with interesting materials, we create beautiful homes that look and feel exciting and comfortable.

Where practical, materials are sourced from New Zealand manufacturers and suppliers with thoughtful consideration of passive heating, natural ventilation, energy use, water collection and reuse, context and contemporary design.

34Finch homes are in a fantastic city fringe neighbourhood with trains, buses and cycle routes right on the door step. They are within easy walking distance to many cafes, bars and shops, but feel private, quiet and sheltered.

Who we are

Neil Wakefield

With 25 years of experience as an Architectural designer, Neil has worked in Europe, Queenstown and Auckland. His project experience ranges from luxury residential dwellings, boutique hotels and wineries with a recent focus on medium density housing and small urban subdivisions. He has worked with award-winning architects and New Zealand’s largest building and development companies, allowing his extensive practical construction knowledge and passion for quality architecture to form considered and functional design. In this field of work designs can change, and budgets influence fundamental decisions, Neil's easy-going nature and adaptability, bring a calm and rational attitude to every project.

Toby Winlove

Toby’s experience compliments Neil’s with a design and business background. Founding a successful packaging business has equiped him with technical and organisational skills well suited for making appealing homes. 5 years spent working in museums helped give Toby ability to apply careful consideration to detail.

Toby and Neil both live in Mt Albert.
